Folk songs and dances in the summer camp

Eglė Žilinskaitė

The third day of the camp started on a happy note... From the early morning, the brightly shining sun invites us to share smiles. As usual, we started the morning with joint exercise, cleaning the rooms and preparing for breakfast. A group of morning "seals" officially opened today, and some campers did not hesitate to refresh themselves in the pond near the campsite.

During the session of art teacher Milda Derkintytė - Sadauskienė, youth improved their ideas, listened to advice and started to transfer their drawings to the canvas.

The activity of team leader Neringa Razbadauskaitė helped the campers get to know the team members better, discover activities that bring them joy, and encouraged them to improve. Some young people, during the activities, used their acting skills and creativity, which caused even more emotions and impressions.

During the circus activity, team leader Kęstas Matusevičius introduced youth to an even wider spectrum of acrobatics. Campers could try "London bridge", "Monkey of the tree" and "Fish under the bridge" exercises. Attention was also paid to the improvement of handstands, juggling and the "sunset".

The activity, which was led by team leader Benas Mačiulaitis, was focused on movement and sports games. During it, young people learned the subtleties of volleyball, played team games, and had the opportunity to test their endurance and individual skills.

After dinner, we welcomed the first guests of this summer camp - folklore group "Čiūta". Surrounded by folk music, all the campers let their hair down. We created a festive atmosphere with dances and songs and had a great time.

Finally, we ended the day by the campfire. We sang, distributed mail and enjoyed a calm, summer evening...

Before going to sleep, we did not forget the traditions of the camp - we raised the flag, wished each other good night in the circle of peace.

The magical moment of the day was during the gathering around the campfire, the support of the campers for the Ukrainians who sang their national songs.

Impressions of the camper:

"This camp is a great place to make very good friends. I'm glad that we all get along and find common interests. I think that I will learn a lot of useful things during the camp. At the moment, I am most impatiently waiting for the circus classes, because I have been dreaming of learning the "sun" for a very long time. I hope that I will succeed and I am very much looking forward to further camp activities!" - Camper Skaiva
