The "Youth Can" summer camp, which lasted seven days, has officially ended. However, the friendships made, emotions experienced and lessons learnt will continue to delight the campers for a long time to come.
On Saturday, we focused on the final activities. Since early morning the campers were finishing their paintings and preparing for the exhibition organised by the leader Milda Derkintytė.
A short trip to the lake helped to refresh on a hot summer day. There was plenty of conversation, laughter and fun games.
In the afternoon, we prepared for the evening activities, writing the last letters and tidying up the rooms.
In the evening, we started the exhibition of the work created by the campers. In addition to presenting their drawings, the youth also improved their public speaking skills and analysed the details of the creative process.
The culmination of the evening was the screening of the camp film. It was produced for the second year in a row by the tandem of Emilija Greviškytė, Eglė Žilinskaitė and Arminas Vareika.
On Sunday morning, we packed up the rest of our bags, hugged our friends for the last time, and headed home with great memories.
The camp raised youths' awareness of sport and its benefits, and strengthened their self-confidence. The participants also learnt to express their feelings and opinions, developed their creativity and patriotism and built friendships.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the youth's dream come true and creating one of the most unique summer memories.
